Percent Test Practice (Honors)
Try these three skills to help practice for your test. You should be able to do all three of these without a calculator.
Converting percents to decimals - https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra/pre-algebra-ratios-rates/pre-algebra-percent-decimal-conversions/e/converting_percents_to_decimals
Finding percents - https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra/pre-algebra-ratios-rates/pre-algebra-percent-problems/e/finding_percents
Discount, tax, and tip word problems - https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra/pre-algebra-ratios-rates/pre-algebra-percent-problems/e/finding_percents
You should also be able to calculate Simple Interest and Percent Change.

Honors HW
Tonight Honors students should be completing a graph and seven questions about some data we collected in class involving M&Ms. Students were working in groups and only had one copy of the data among them. I instructed them to take a picture of the data, but if your student forgot they should be able to recreate the data from the scenarios below and graph it.
I also included the seven questions they have to answer. It's important that this gets finished tonight, because we will start a discussion on it tomorrow.

Ratios and Proportions Test Tuesday (Regular Math)
On Tuesday (11/8) students will take the summative test on our Ratios and Proportions unit. This will cover rate problems like the ones below.
Rate Problems - https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra/pre-algebra-ratios-rates/pre-algebra-ratio-word-problems/e/ratio_word_problems
More Advance Rate Problems - https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra/pre-algebra-ratios-rates/pre-algebra-rates/e/rate_problems_0.5
Students will also need to solve problems with similar figures like the one below.
A more complex example is shown here.

Students will also need to solve problems with similar figures like the one below.
What is the length of x?
A more complex example is shown here.
Find the length of a and b?
Both of these skills are essentials for the quarter. Students should expect to see other topics on their summative in addition to these, but this should help with studying.

Test Wednesday (Honors)
This Wednesday we have our first test in honors. Tomorrow we will study and review using the KhanAcademy app. It's free and they have a website (khanacademy.org) that has a lot of good practice for our geometry unit. Here are the different things we will review in class tomorrow. This would be great practice for home too! E-mail me know if you have any questions.
